Creating beyond what works
With time, trial & error, patience, and persistence, what works often evolves into a winning formula. Yet what works can be a double edge sword. While it offers a viable option, it can also trick us into thinking we’re creating something new and different—when in reality, we’re just refreshing the same old screen, instead of daring to reboot.
When challenges hit, the instinct is to lean on what “worked before.” We repeat the formula, copy the solution, stick to the routine. Safe. Comfortable. Predictable. But safe and comfortable rarely provoke the kind of breakthrough needed to move our project, or impossible dream to the next level. As a result, many talented artists & treps remain stuck in the same place—months, years, sometimes forever.
Important because knowledge and experience aren’t the enemy—they’re valuable resources. Real breakthroughs require the courage to set aside what we already know, and listen inward—to that quieter voice of intuition, imagination, and wisdom. Not like tossing proven strategies, more like holding them lightly while exploring what could be.
