Carpe Diem is a choice
Artists & treps always have three ways to approach their creative careers: from the bleachers, the sidelines, or the playing field:
The bleachers are full of watchers, procrastinators, skeptics, and armchair experts. They stay at a safe distance, quick with opinions, but short on results—waiting for the world to change.
The sidelines are for the visionaries and planners—the ones who hover close to the action, dip a toe in, and often see some success. But they still hold back—not out of fear, but out of hesitation—waiting for the world to change.
The playing field is where the real work happens. Where sweat, fear, courage, and genius collide. Here are the doers—the ones who show up and turn vision into results. They face risk, failure, praise, and criticism with equal courage. They’re informed and compassionate—but not waiting for the world to change. They know it already does, every single day. So they stay focused on what matters most: family, health, career—all in constant motion.
Important because the playing field doesn’t have to be a battlefield. We can spend our days watching and waiting—or we can commit to our vision, grow our own unique brand, and contribute our own unique verse to making the world work…for everyone…with no one left out.
As the Roman poet Horace wrote, “Carpe Diem. Seize the day and put very little on tomorrow.”
