A bend in the journey

(For mature audiences only!)

For the aging artist or entrepreneur, the greatest challenge isn’t technology, talent, AI, or ambition—it’s time. The race to chase down our impossible goals and dreams before the tank runs dry.

Many creatives and entrepreneurs grow older with the nagging fear that their best opportunities have already passed, and the only thing left to do is settle in and accept our fate, or toss the towel. Even the word “dinosaur” has shifted from a Jurassic zoo animal to a cultural insult hurled at anyone nearing fifty.

That said, I think the biggest time-wasting mistake we make is waiting: waiting for the economy to turn around, waiting for new leadership, waiting for an offer, waiting for the tech train to slow down, or as Billy would say, “waiting for the breeze to blow in, and that ol’ second wind comes along!”

Important because although there may be a bend in our journey, maybe it’s as simple as changing our POV from “What’s in it for me?” to “How can I continue to be relevant and offer my best work to those who continue to want it?” Not like giving up on our dreams, more like dreaming up new ones. Because the dreamer within is forever ageless.

How I use AI:

I never use AI to create my blogs or stories. However, I value it's assistance with graphics, research,

punctuation, spelling, and tightening—never grammar.
